Activate Group acquires Motorcare bodyshops

Activate Group has continued its expansion with the acquisition of Motorcare bodyshops based in Tunbridge Wells and Bristol.

The acquisitions mark a new chapter for the group as previous expansions have all been new-builds.

The investment has been supported by Elysian Capital, which took a significant stake in the group in January.

Both bodyshops will now be rebranded under the Activate Accident Repair banner, and benefit from significant support and funding which will enhance their repair capabilities and sustainability credentials.

Hannah Wilcox, CEO of Activate Group, said:

“Our acquisition of these Motorcare sites is a strategic step to better support our fleet and insurer clients, meeting the demands of our growing customer base in high-need areas. We’re thrilled to welcome the skilled teams at Tunbridge Wells and Bristol into the Activate family and to build on their existing strengths, enhancing each site to reflect the high standards our customers expect from Activate Accident Repair.”

Activate Accident Repair, the group’s bodyshop division, has grown significantly since 2019 through the development of purpose-built, state-of-the-art repair centres. This acquisition will further enhance its capacity to its base of fleet and insurer clients, serviced by its sopp+sopp and Motor Repair Network businesses respectively.
