TrustFord supports families this Christmas
TrustFord has donated to local foodbanks and charities throughout the UK after sites became donation hubs throughout November.
This Christmas community food banks are in need of donations more than ever, with the Trussell Trust estimating that over 600,000 people will rely on a food bank from December until January 2024.
As part of its ‘Fill Your Boots’ campaign, the dealer group invited colleagues and customers to donate non-perishable items to help and support people in need.
Among the food banks that received help was Hope Family Trust in Dagenham, which has seen an increase in people needing crisis food.
Representatives said: “TrustFord Dagenham kindly donated ten large boxes of food and toiletries to the Hope Trust from colleagues and customers. This year more than ever we are seeing less and less donations made to the food bank, so more than ever we need donations from companies such as TrustFord. We thank you for your time and efforts in doing so.”
Other food banks that received help included Newtownabbey Food Bank, Lisburn Foodbank, St Vincent De Paul (Craigavon), Hope Central (Wilmslow), Ballymena Food Bank, The Shed (Dagenham) and The Welcome Centre (Huddersfield).
Stuart Mustoe, chief executive officer of TrustFord, said: “At TrustFord being a good corporate citizen is a very natural part of how we do business. We’re always looking for ways to give back to our local communities and we hope the donations will make a difference to local households. A big thank you to all our colleagues and customers for their kind donations, and the fantastic organisations that provide this service.”
