Mackins celebrates PAS 2060 accreditation
Mackins Accident Repair Centres has achieved PAS 2060 certification across its entire group.
It achieved this status after collaborating with energy and carbon specialists ECA, which calculated the carbon footprint of the group across all three scopes and developed bespoke strategies to help it become net zero.
Owner Patrick Mackin said: “As a business, we have always seen ourselves as being industry leaders and proactive when it comes to important issues such as the current climate crisis. We contacted ECA Business Energy and collated the data they requested and this was analysed and a plan and targets for reducing the carbon footprint of our business put in place.”
Steve Silverwood, managing director ECA Business Energy, said: “Mackins ARC has always demonstrated its commitment to the environment and sustainability. By formalising this commitment, it will be actively reducing their emissions year on year as well as offsetting any outstanding emissions.”
Mackins is the first bodyshop in Northern Ireland to achieve PAS 2060, and continues a landmark year for the business. Last April director Patrick Mackin won the UK Bodyshop Manager Of The Year at the prestigious Bodyshop Awards, while the company also won Gold at the Greener Bodyshop Awards last autumn.
