GBA Technical Services unveils ‘greenest’ defleet centre
GBA Technical Services expects to reduce operating costs at its new Automotive Technical Centre in Immingham by up to 85% after partnering with IDES Electrical Services on a major solar panel project.
IDES installed 1,700 solar panels at the site as part of a 779.7kW project which, alongside the installation of four Todd Engineering electric ovens, helps to make the facility the ‘greenest’ defleet centre in the UK.
Furthermore, any excess solar energy can be sold back to private consumers.
Nick Walker, commercial director, GBA Group, said: “We truly believe this state-of-the-art facility will provide much-needed capacity to the industry and further showcases our commitment to carbon reduction as demonstrated through our ISO 50001 accreditation. We are very excited about the evolution of ATC 2 and look forward to welcoming our existing and new clients to the site in the very near future.”
Garth Edwards, managing director, IDES, said: “This new solar PV system is a testament to our expertise in designing and implementing bespoke solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. It will provide GBA with a reliable and cost-effective source of clean energy, reducing their reliance on traditional energy sources and helping them achieve their sustainability goals.”
