With men more than three times as likely to take their own lives than women, automotive charity Ben has released a short film directly addressing the issue.
Released in line with International Men’s Day, the theme of which this year is ‘zero male suicide’, the eight-minute video aims to raise awareness around suicide and highlight the services Ben offers to those who are working or have worked in the automotive industry.
‘Alright Mate’, which features Alastair Ellery who starred in the Netflix film, The Strays, is intended to educate colleagues about the potential warning signs to look out for, and direct anyone affected to the range of support options made available by Ben.
This includes a helpline on 08081 311333, an online chat support service during office hours and an out-of-hours text support line, on 85258.
Ben has also launched a new online support service dedicated to preventing suicide.
