Vella Group opens 11th site
The Vella Group has officially opened its brand-new accident repair centre in Coventry, West Midlands.
The 13,000 sqft site – a former Nationwide Accident Repair bodyshop – has been given a significant investment to transform it into a modern, energy-efficient, high-quality operation that will serve Vella Group customers across the Midlands.
The development of the site has included adding high-lux LED lighting throughout the workshop, brand-new equipment and tooling, scissor-lifts installed in all technician bays, white clad walls and a new floor. It features two spraybooths complemented by an AkzoNobel paint scheme.
This week saw the first new team members undertake their onboarding process at the site and begin repairing the first vehicles through the workshop.
Over the next few weeks, the team will grow to a 15-strong workforce capable of repairing up to 30 vehicles a week.
Marc Holding, managing director, The Vella Group, said: “We are delighted to be once again expanding our footprint, this time into the Midlands. We have been keen to have a presence in this area for some time, and when this property became available, we could see the potential to turn it into a high-quality bodyshop for our team and our customers.”
Mike Sarsfield, operations director, added: “The project team has done an incredible job to turn what was a tired, underinvested premises into an outstanding, modern working environment and I would like to thank everyone who has worked hard to get our 11th site operational. I am delighted to welcome the new team members to The Vella Group, and look forward to them delivering an outstanding service to our customers.”
The Coventry location becomes the sixth site added to The Vella Group in the last three years. It follows new-builds in Deeside (2019), Liverpool (2020), Manchester Trafford Park (2020) and Bradford (2022), plus the acquisition of Leominster Accident Repair (2020).
