TrustFord to pay Real Living Wage

TrustFord has committed to pay the Real Living Wage as a minimum hourly rate, effective from 1 April.

Compared to the National Living Wage, which is legally binding for workers aged 23 and over, the real Living Wage Foundation’s rates are voluntarily paid by UK businesses. The calculation is reviewed every year, and includes a separate rate for London, where the cost of living is higher.

TrustFord, the UK’s largest Ford dealer group, employs over 3,000 colleagues across the UK and Channel Islands, has also announced that it will be significantly raising sales and aftersales basic salaries. Major changes will also come into force to reduce working hours and increase five-day week contracts in their quest to ensure colleagues can balance their professional and private life.

Sharon Ashcroft, human resources director, said: “Investing in our people and offering flexible working hours and a hybrid working policy, means we can help our colleagues establish a positive work-life balance, ensuring we attract and retain the best and most motivated people. We also hope it will attract more females to the automotive industry – something which is very close to my heart.”
