Models performance in road safety stats

New research has revealed the cars most and least likely to be involved in accident.

According to analysis by experts at GoShorty, based on crash statistics from the Department for Transport and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the car most likely to crash in the UK is the Toyota Prius.

Data found that it was involved in 1,207 collisions per 100,000 licensed vehicles in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Honda Insight ranked in second place as one of the most crashed vehicles in the UK, with 1,011 collisions per 100,000 licensed vehicles.

The Land Rover Range Rover was also one of the most likely vehicles to be involved in a crash in the UK, with 861 collisions per 100,000 licensed vehicles.

Of those cars least likely to be involved in a collision, the Renault Grand Scenic was the safest vehicle in terms of crashes per 100,000 licensed vehicles with just 44 collisions in 2020. The MG ZS was involved in 75 collisions per 100,000 vehicles and the Ford Puma involved in 85 collisions per 100,000 vehicles.
