GEM backs road safety campaign
GEM Motoring Assist is again sponsoring this year’s Project EDWARD road safety initiative, which takes place across the UK from 19 September.
The goal of Project EDWARD, with its theme of ‘Changing Minds, Changing Behaviour’, is for no one to lose their life in an avoidable road collision.
Highlights of Project EDWARD include a webinar hosted by Valerie Singleton OBE, titled, ‘What is safe driving, and why should I care?’, road trips in electric vehicles, a 24-hour National Safe Speeds Day on 21 September, and the opportunity every day to win a dash cam.
GEM chief executive Neil Worth said: “In spite of all the developments in technology and engineering, there are still around five preventable deaths and 70 life-changing injuries on our roads every day.
“Project EDWARD has done a great job highlighting good practice in road safety. Its messages are relevant for everyone who uses the road – and its aim of eliminating road death is something everyone must support.
“We have always admired the innovative approach shown by the EDWARD team which in past years has really helped raise the profile of road safety. The goals of Project EDWARD align exactly with our own long-held principles, and we are once again proud to be supporting the week of action.”
