Fix Auto calls for unified Ukraine support

Fix Auto UK is urging the vehicle repair sector to step forward and support the humanitarian effort in Ukraine after receiving an immediate and hugely positive response from delegates attending its 2022 National Conference.

The organisation received overwhelming support when it opened-up its ‘Facing The Future’ event by revealing a direct link enabling guests to support and donate to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal as organised by The Red Cross.

The Disasters Emergency Committee – DEC – unites 15 charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialists in various areas of disaster response and spearheads appeals during times of monumental suffering, which is the case in Ukraine.

Ian Pugh, Fix Auto UK’s managing director, said: “The conflict in Ukraine cannot be ignored. Our corporate clients, like so many national and international organisations, have offered incredible resources to support those innocent people caught up in this tragic event.

“With things escalating at such a rapid rate, we could simply not progress with our National Conference without paying our own tribute to those suffering. Every little helps and we can all play our own part in helping those people who are suffering so I urge all to step forward and support the cause. The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal as organised by The Red Cross effectively provides that direct link of help and financial support and I urge all to step forward and donate as much as possible.”

All money raised from the appeal help to provide food, first aid, clean water, warm clothing, shelter support, hygiene parcels and medicines. It also supports hospitals and healthcare facilities, train people on life-saving first aid, support fire fighters and civil protection units, help families stay in contact, repair vital infrastructure, homes, healthcare centres, schools and community centres.
