Copart strives toward Greenest Fleet on the Street
Copart has received delivery of 20 new DAF 3-car transporters as it strives to operate the ‘Greenest Fleet on the Street’.
In line with the rest of the company’s 250-strong transport fleet, these 16-tonne transporters are Euro VI and DVS (Direct Vision Standard) compliant.
As well as enhancing efficiency and significantly lowering fuel consumption and emissions, this investment will further strengthen Copart’s operational capabilities by enabling drivers to successfully tackle more challenging vehicle collections as they are smaller and more manoeuvrable.
Phil Briggs, director of operation centres, transport and engineering, said: “Collections with restricted access would have previously made us reliant on using a subhauler, which would have resulted in higher costs for our customers. By investing into more 3-car transporters for our fleet means our drivers can easily handle this type of collection, putting Copart in control of costs and enabling us to maintain a high standard of customer service.”
Jane Pocock, CEO, Copart UK and Ireland, said: “It’s fantastic to see these new 3-car transporters arriving at our Operation Centres as part of our ongoing fleet replacement and expansion programme, supporting our Plan-Net-Zero commitment to providing Euro VI compliancy across our full 250-strong transporter fleet.
“The expansion and diversification of our transport fleet, combined with the strategic and unrivalled positioning of our sites across the country, means that we can collect and handle our customers’ vehicles quickly, efficiently, and with minimal environmental impact.”
