BookMyGarage celebrates booking landmark
Over five million drivers have now used BookMyGarage to find the most appropriate repairer to carry out MOTs, services and repairs.
The milestone arrived after the comparison site for motorists saw a record-breaking two million drivers obtain instant prices to book in 2021 alone. The increase represents a 45% rise compared to 2020, with over 9,000 independent and franchised garage partners generating additional revenue from segment 2, 3 and older vehicles.
The growth underlines the digital transformation of the aftermarket for both franchised and independent workshops.
BookMyGarage co-founder Karen Rotberg said: “It is now running at a lightening pace. 2021 was a breakthrough year, both in terms of consumer demand for the convenience of online control, and dealers switching onto the market opportunity.
“The pandemic has unquestionably played a role in accelerating the digitalisation of servicing and repair, in the same way new and used sales have transitioned online. The motorist increasingly expects it. We’re in the distress purchase game; by adding transparency and convenience, garages are unlocking customers previously lost to fast-fits or simply to rivals.”
She said that this year clear winners and losers will emerge, based largely on digitalisation strategies.
She said: “We’ve seen the success of the early adopters in the independent sector translate to those progressive dealer groups who could see how digital innovation can disrupt the consumer journey.”
