Ben Ball hailed a roaring success
More than 600 guests attended the Ben Ball 2022 at Old Billingsgate Market on 7 December to help the automotive charity raise over £120,000.
The support will be invaluable as Ben revealed the sharp increase in demand for help as more people than ever before are reaching out for help with their finances, due to the cost-of-living crisis.
The auctions on the night raised more than £120,000, exceeding last year’s figure and making it one of the highest Ben Ball fundraising totals ever received.
Matt Wigginton, director of partnerships, engagement and income at Ben, said: “I’m blown away by the support we’ve received at this year’s Ben Ball. It really is tough times out there for everyone at the moment, so this means the world to us and those we support. All funds raised will go to supporting those in the industry who are struggling right now – and people really are struggling. This support is life-changing and life-saving. People are having to make an impossible choice between eating or heating this winter and that’s a choice no-one should have to make.
“It was also fantastic to celebrate the year together and show the automotive community we care and that, together, we’re committed to helping people get through their darkest days.”
