Second site a ‘natural next step’

Fix Auto Mid Devon owner Louise Woolacott along with daughters Erika and Alena have announced plans to open a second site in the region.

Work is well underway to transform a former coach depot into a 6,000 sqft state-of-the-art repair centre to mirror their award-winning site in Crediton. The new site will be known as Fix Auto Newton Abbot and is scheduled to be operational by the end of April.

In order to maximise the workspace, there will be 18 workbays inside the workshop as well as a spraybooth and a specialised ADAS booth positioned outside in specially designed pods.

The new site will also be ready to accommodate electric vehicle charging and repairs.

Louise said: “We have been seriously looking at creating a second site for the past five years, but we could not find the right building in the correct location until now.

“Newton Abbot is perfect for our needs and we knew the moment we saw it, it had huge potential. It is centrally located close to a main road network and while the building is a modest 6,000 sqft, as it was a former coach depot it sits within a huge car park which not only provides a lot of car parking but also enables us to use space to create our external pods to really maximise all of the available space.”

Louise added: “To say we are excited and thrilled to be doing this is an understatement. I am blessed with a committed and passionate team led by our manager Dominic Lamb who has been instrumental behind this project. It is down to their efforts Fix Auto Mid Devon is working like a well-oiled machine so, for some time now, we have felt developing a secondary site is the natural next step for the business and for the network.”

Fix Auto UK managing director Ian Pugh said: “It’s incredible that during these testing times we have yet another franchise partner investing heavily and expanding their portfolio. I know from my many conversations with Louise that this was going to be the obvious next step for their business and one they have been ready to make for a long time. It is hugely exciting and I am looking forward to seeing Fix Auto Newton Abbot strengthen the network in the South West once the site is complete.”
