Huawei joins autonomous race
China’s Huawei has announced it is investing US$1bn (£833m) to develop self-driving cars by 2025.
The tech company has forged partnerships with BAIC Group, Chongqing Changan Automobile and Guangzhou Automobile Group to develop autonomous and electric vehicles to rival fellow Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, which is investing US$10bn in EVs.
The company claims to have already developed a semi-autonomous driving system that can work without any human intervention for up to 621 miles.
