Claims tail off as weather warms

Unique claims fell five per cent in the last week of March, according to data released by CAPS.

Its latest collision repair industry report (below) found that claims were 80% of what they were in early November.

Meanwhile, supply chain transmissions were up one per cent last week to 90% of what they were last November.

Furlough and flexible working is still impacting working levels, while the discrepancy between claims and transmissions could be attributed to the fact that CAPS measures claims exchanged and not necessarily the frequency of new claims, suggesting there may be a weekly lag.
