CAPS numbers ‘boosted by school returns’

CAPS has reported that both unique claims and transmissions rose by 6% in the week ending 13 March.

According to its latest collision repair industry report (below) unique claims have risen to 82% of what they were last November, while transmissions are up to 91%.

It found the upturn in the past week could be down to schools returning on 8 March, as well as traffic analysis starting to show an increase in peak trends.

However, claims volumes still vary according to region, while the continued furlough scheme is also contributing to lower volumes.
