AW Repair Group highlights career possibilities
AW Repair Group has launched a new docu-series highlighting the flourishing careers that are possible within its group.
The series of short films titled AW – A Career For Life was launched on Thursday, 18 November, with the story of Safayeth Hussain and how his IT background led to becoming a trainee vehicle damage assessor.
From new joiners to seasoned heads of departments, the short films demonstrate the variety of roles available and how the company develops the team with training, support and promotion.
Hussain said: “I was able to bring my IT skills into the vehicle repair industry because vehicles are very high tech.”
AW CEO Andrew Walsh added: “The Independent News business team initially came to make a film about the company’s response to the increasing technology in vehicles but we had so many hours of footage and engagement from the team that we came up with the AW – A Career For Life concept. This series is handed over to our teams in production, administration and management. They each talk directly about their different careers and how the industry allows someone to progress from the very bottom to the very top. Careers for women, our culture and transferable skills to make AW and this industry such an exciting place to be.”
Meanwhile, AW Repair Group’s latest intake of apprentices have now begun their learning at Thatcham Research. They are embarking on three-year apprenticeships.
