Autotech Training introduces ADAS courses
Autotech Training has launched IMI-accredited ADAS training at its Milton Keynes site.
This comes ahead of the Insurance Industry Requirements (IIR), which stipulate the safe repair of ADAS-enabled vehicles no later than 31 March.
The IIR will provide clarity to garages and workshops servicing ADAS-enabled vehicles by ensuring vehicle manufacturers’ technical specifications are met to reinstate ADAS features safely.
After completing Autotech course, vehicle technicians will have the ability to identify and correctly interpret information relating to a specific vehicle and its ADAS features to determine which method of calibration is required.
Mandla Ndhlovu, training delivery director for Autotech Training, said: “As the number of ADAS enabled vehicles join the UK roads, it is vital that the automotive aftermarket is able to offer a safe repair service.
“While the IIR provides the insurance supply chain with clear guidance, automotive employers need to ensure that their vehicle technicians are trained to not only comply, but to instil confidence within their customers.”
