A million parts available for next-day delivery
Hills Group has announced a £10m investment that will make its green parts warehouse and distribution centre the largest in the UK.
This latest investment will see Hills’ headquarters expand to 26 acres, with warehousing capacity of over 250,000 sqft. This will enable it to hold all of its inventoried parts on the shelf and available for next day delivery.
Joe March, head of commercial at Hills, said: “Our goal is to supply a premium product, inspiring customers to choose an environmentally and commercially beneficial option. This exciting chapter of growth within the business has increased our capability to distribute parts faster and more efficiently than ever before, with a target to hold in excess of one million quality assured parts on the shelf before the end of 2021.”
Ian Hill, MD of Hills Salvage & Recycling, said: “There has been a record uptake in the sale of green parts for insurance repairs through the pandemic. It came as no surprise, we had already gained significant traction in the market place, this has simply emphasised that our solution can make a significant difference to the supply chain, both commercially and environmentally.
“With our recent acquisition of DA Autoparts in Scotland, and new distribution hubs identified in the south of the country, we are on target to complete our strategic plans and provide a parts logistics and delivery service never before seen in the recycling industry.”
