New book studies free car hire
A new book has been published chronicling the history of free car hire, the insurance industry’s efforts to stop it and what the future holds for the credit hire industry.
Credit Hire by Steve Evans, founder and chief executive of Accident Exchange Group, chronicles the 40-year evolution of the credit hire industry; highlights the challenges to individual CHOs in a rapidly maturing industry; explores the sustainability of current lead referral channels; offers guidance for CHOs on strategic and operational best practice; and considers the future of the industry, the impact of the connected car and the prospect for vehicle manufacturers to disintermediate the sector.
The book argues that the future of the credit-hire industry is challenged. Classifying individual credit hire operators into three groups, it outlines the risks and prospects for survival for individual CHOs. It also considers industry marketing strategies and outlines the growth opportunities in an industry generating revenue of more than £1bn every year.
