Motofix completes major site update

Motofix has completed a major refurbishment of its High Wycombe accident repair centre.

The site has been transformed with the introduction of new processes and equipment, focusing on improvement in four key areas.

It has expanded repair capability with the fitment of new state-of-the-art equipment, including Hunter 4 Wheel Alignment, ADAS systems, aluminium and plastic welding repair, electric and hybrid HEV Level 3 stations, Blackhawk and Shark measuring systems.

It will offer improved production efficiencies by adopting electronic data to technicians, providing real-time access to repair methods, updating of images through the repair cycle and fitment of company tool-boxes stations.

It will reduce key-to-key times by developing a dedicated fast-track repair line, with SMART repair tooling and rail-transfer systems manned by dedicated repair technicians.

Further, the renovations will reduce its carbon footprint by adopting SWR waste management leading to a 99% reduction of waste to landfill, new Devilbiss spray guns and IDES LED lighting. (Following these initiatives, the company recently won Silver at the NBRA Greener Bodyshop Awards).

The project was led by Michael Beale, group technical manager, said: We’re delighted with the results of our investment, with much of the improvements being carried out by our in-house building maintenance team. With employees living our brand values, the site has a real wow factor and we have already entertained visits from senior Innovation and VWG Group representatives.”
