MG Cannon closes all sites

MG Cannon has announced that all sites, including its Magic sites, have been temporarily closed to ensure compliance with the latest guidance and instruction from the government.

In a statement it said: “We have taken this necessary precaution to keep our employees, their families, our valued customers and business partners safe.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to our brilliant and resilient employees who have worked incredibly hard during this challenging time. There has been a flurry of urgent tasks from collections and deliveries of vehicles to calls to our customers with updates of their vehicles, as well as parts and supply management.

“Our valet teams stepped up the already exemplary standards of cleaning courtesy and customers cars; in particular, special attention paid to the main customer touch-points such as steering wheels, door handles, keys, handbrakes, gear shifts and other surfaces.

“The safety, health and mental welfare of our employees continues to be paramount, and we are keeping up a positive mindset as we respond to this fast-moving situation. Employees are receiving daily updates from our directors via email. Our HR team have been disseminating links via our HR tool kit to provide the latest NHS and government advice and announcements to all staff as well as informing them of options for working hours, pension payment holidays and anything else they may find useful help.

“We are taking every possible precaution and making some tough decisions to ensure business continuity and sustainability. These decisions affect us all, but are being made to future-proof the business. We have spoken to all customers that have vehicles still in for repair with us to reassure them that their vehicles are safe in our secure premises and daily site checks have been set up to ensure our premises stay secure.

“We have many ways of keeping customers up to date including our website and social media platforms. Each MG Cannon site has an individual Facebook page, which is regularly checked so that customers messages are responded to quickly. Email and contact details for all sites can be found on our website, and urgent enquiries, advice or assistance regarding a recent car accident can be answered through our social media channels. We are responding to all emails as best we can and we are assuring all customers, colleagues and partners that we will do everything we can under these trying circumstances.”
