Join the ‘Big Skills Debate’

National training provider Remit Group is inviting apprenticeship levy paying automotive employers to join them at the ‘Big Skills Debate’, which takes place on Friday, 6 March.

Held at the IMI Conference Centre in Hertford, delegates will join a number of senior HR, training and development and apprenticeship programme managers to discuss current policy and future developments within the automotive industry that will have an impact on future training and workforce development strategies.

To offer some perspectives, creative solutions, and to stimulate effective networking and knowledge sharing, the event will introduce four keynote speakers who will each discuss key industry topics.

They are Steve Nash, CEO of the IMI, who will present a session titled, “The future of the automotive industry”; Andy Turbefield, head of quality, Halfords Autocentres, whose session is titled, “Attracting talent – the challenges and the opportunities”; Dean Rippon, technical training manager, learning and development, Scania (Great Britain), who will discuss, “Apprenticeship programme insights – a manufacturer’s perspective”; and Pauline Wiseman, director Trevano, whose session is titled, “Female leaders in Automotive”.

There will also be a panel of industry experts to facilitate an interactive discussion around key sector and apprenticeship themes.
