Higher congestion charge now in force

A 30 per cent rise in London’s congestion charge has come into force today.

The charge, which has risen from £11.50 to £15, has also now been extended from 07:00 to 22:00, seven days a week.

The increase is part of the government’s £1.6bn bailout for Transport for London, and is expected to be in place for at least a year.

NHS staff and care workers are able to apply for a refund.
