Going the extra four million miles

BuyaCar has passed the four million-mile mark in deliveries in the first nine months of the year. That is the equivalent of driving 160 times around the globe to deliver vehicles to customers.

By the end of September it had covered 504,722 miles, exceeding 2017s total of 466,536 miles.

Covid-19 has enhanced demand for its services, with the car supermarket reporting its busiest ever summer period despite traditional dealers suffering a fall in demand during the March to June lockdown. July was the biggest sales month in BuyaCar’s 18-year history while average prices in August reached a record high of £19,969 – £2,000 more than at the start of the year.

Christofer Lloyd, editor of BuyaCar.co.uk, said: “It is appropriate that we have now passed the four million milestone for total deliveries to the customer’s door, in a year which has seen BuyaCar performance records broken several times.

“Our average delivery distances between the supplying dealer and the purchasing customer typically hover around 160-180 miles but many customers choose cars from hundreds of miles away that they would never have a chance of buying without BuyaCar.co.uk. We expect to cover the next million delivery miles by the end of 2021.”
