G3 confirms new Yorkshire site
G3 Vehicle Auctions is investing in what will be the UK’s largest purpose-built independent auction and refurbishment development for over 20 years.
Construction on the 14-acre site in Yorkshire began in March with completion and public launch scheduled for January 2021.
The new facility will have the capacity to annually remarketing 50,000 vehicles when fully operational, more than doubling the company’s current capacity. It will also be providing extensive onsite de-fleet and refurbishment facilities with a new 14,000 sqft centre located adjacent to the main remarketing hub.
The site includes infrastructure for the future, with scalable facilities for up to 250 EV fast-charge points to support the expected demand for electric and hybrid vehicle remarketing, whilst incorporating eco-friendly credentials with solutions such as solar power and water recycling.
Joint managing director Matt Dale said: “It’s exciting to be able to announce this ‘good news story’ to the industry. While there has been a seismic shift to online-only auctions in reaction to the events of this year, we truly believe that a mix of digital and physical solutions will be essential to supporting the automotive trade long into the future and that’s exactly why we’re investing heavily to create a true omni-channel experience to seamlessly merge both in our ever-changing industry.”
