Fixter freezes parts prices post Brexit
Fixter has assured motorists there won’t be a price hike following Brexit by offering a parts cost price protection guarantee for January 2021 MOT and service bookings across its UK network.
Fixter has said that a no-deal scenario combined with a significant MOTs backlog could result in increased costs for consumers. The MOT backlog is in the millions, while the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has said that should the UK leave the EU without a deal an average tariff rate of up to four per cent on components can be assumed.
That could cost the sector between £350m and £875m per year for the import of components, some of which would be passed to consumers.
