Farécla postpones bonnet painting competition
Farécla has postponed its 2020 Apprentice and Student Bonnet Painting Competition until next year in light of the coronavirus crisis.
The closure of colleges and some bodyshops, and with many workers being furloughed, has made it impractical to run the competition to its conclusion this year, according to a Farécla spokesperson.
“This is a bitter pill to swallow, but our commitment to recognising talented young painters remains, and the competition will be back next year better and stronger than ever,” the spokesperson said.
All declared entrants received to date are being contacted via their sponsors and informed that their entry will be valid in the 2021 competition, even if by then they will have completed their apprenticeship.
