carwow YouTube channel hits one-billion milestone

The carwow YouTube channel has passed one-billion views, becoming the fourth car channel in the world to achieve this milestone.

The channel has also grown 100% year-on-year and currently averages 56 million views a month, more than any other car channel globally.

On average, 500 years’ worth of content is now viewed on the channel every month, accounting for almost 8,000 years of content since the first car review went live in April 2016.

Mat Watson, editorial director of carwow said: “When we launched our YouTube channel four years ago, we made it our mission to provide consumer car buyers with accessible and brutally honest car reviews that would help rather than confuse in the decision-making process. The continued increasing success of our YouTube channel proves that was the right call and that we are fulfilling a need in the market.

“What’s particularly interesting is the growth in appeal in EVs. Earlier this year we uploaded a 30-minute video where we compared the real-world range of six popular electric cars. The video has proved very popular with more than five million views in less than two months. Also the content clearly resonated with the viewers as the audience retention rate is almost 50 per cent, which is very high.”
