BVRLA names new director

Shashi Maharaj has joined the BVRLA as legal and membership director, responsible for the association’s governance, compliance and membership functions.

He has spent over 20 years with BMW in a variety of senior legal, strategy and compliance roles.

Maharaj said: “The BVRLA is a very well-respected and influential trade body committed to promoting the highest industry standards and I am looking forward to working with members and colleagues across the association to support the vehicle rental, leasing and fleet sectors as we navigate the unchartered waters of a post-Brexit and post-pandemic business environment.”

BVRLA chief executive Gerry Keaney added: “We are delighted to welcome Shashi to the BVRLA family, where I know he will play an important and valuable role as part of the senior management team.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience and his strategic input will undoubtedly help to shape the future of the association as our members’ businesses continue to adapt to meet the ever evolving needs of customers at a time of ongoing regulatory change.”
