Leeds bodyshop completes £1.2m upgrade

D Gawthrope ACR has completed a huge investment to its bodyshop at Knottingley, near Leeds.

Managing director Dean Gawthrope has invested more than £1.2m to upgrade the 15,000 sqft site while also adding a 3,000 sqft dedicated aluminium bay for cars.

The business has worked closely with Bodyshop Solutions and invested extensively in its multi-manufacturer-approved Celette equipment range, which includes the Griffon XL, which is a drive-on extra long Jig Bench with a secondary lift, the fast X-One quick pull bench, the Naja 3D electronic measuring system and the new Eagle, electronic measuring system giving fast diagnostics and traceability.

In terms of software, it is now using the AutoFlow management system, which has improved efficiencies.

This facility is also able to repair electric and hydrogen vehicles.

Gawthrope said: “I took the decision to really invest heavily in the future of the business and I am absolutely delighted with the completed bodyshop. This superb facility enables us to provide an incredible service and experience for customers, covering every type of vehicle, using state of the art equipment and systems coupled with our highly trained team of technicians.

Even at this difficult pandemic time, this significant investment shows our belief and commitment to the future of the industry.”
