Winn/win for Heritage Engineers
The Association of Heritage Engineers has announced that Allan Winn, vice-president and former CEO and director of Brooklands Motor Museum has become an honorary vice president.
During his time at Brooklands he became well-known for campaigning the 580bhp Napier-Railton racing car at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This British-built leviathan still holds the Brooklands lap record in perpetuity.
Allan joined Brooklands in 1989 as their director. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Liveryman of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators and belongs to the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers. He is a lifelong car enthusiast and actively drives his 1929 Bentley on events with the Vintage Sports Car Club, of which he has served as a director with that organisation for 17 years.
The Association of Heritage Engineers is an organisation which facilitates training and networking across all disciplines of engineering, to ensure that skills and experience are passed on by craftsmen and women to future generations.
