VW reports rising sales

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has delivered 75,000 vehicles worldwide in the first two months of the year, a 13.4% rise on the same period last year.

The largest sales region was western Europe, with 50,600 vehicle deliveries, an increase of 19.8%. Breaking that down, the five core markets all increased in sales, with Germany selling 19,700 vehicles, the UK selling 4,700 vehicles, Spain selling 3,100 vehicles, France selling 2,600 and Italy 2,000.

With 7,700 vehicle deliveries between January and February, the markets in Eastern Europe also made a significant contribution to the brand’s rising sales volume.

Elsewhere, in Mexico and the South American markets, 7,700 vehicles were delivered, 1,200 fewer than in the same period of the previous year.

In Africa, at 4,100 vehicles, the delivery volume almost doubled compared with the two previous year’s months, while deliveries in the Asia-Pacific region fell by 10.9% to 3,000 vehicles, and in the Middle East the collapsed market in Turkey again had a major impact on the brand’s sales. With 1,800 vehicle deliveries, the volume in the Middle East almost halved.
