Upward Arc for motorcycle maker

The manufacturer of what it claims to be the world most advanced electric motorcycle has launched a four-week crowdfunding campaign.

Arc, which developing the Vector motorcycle, has said its crowdfunding campaign goes live on 6 May and is intended to scale the business through a new manufacturing facility in St Athan, South Wales.

This four-week investment is phase two of a much larger raise which includes the multi-year backing of a number of blue-chip investors, including Jaguar Land Rover’s Venture Capital fund InMotion Ventures.

Mark Truman, CEO of Arc said, ‘Since launching the Arc Vector just 16 weeks ago we have been overwhelmed with how positively it has been received by global media, prospects and investors alike. To date we have received over 100 expressions of interest from prospects and we’re now opening up ownership of our transformative business.’

Arc St Athan will become operational in 2020 and will become the centre of excellence for the company’s manufacturing. The 65,000 sqft premises will include a brand-new manufacturing facility, a training and customer experience space, as well as a clubhouse, a test track and proving ground.

The Arc Vector features a lightweight carbon-composite structure and battery-module monocoque. The Human Machine Interface (HMI), comprises an intelligent rider jacket packed with haptic sensory technology and a Heads-Up Display (HUD).
