Sharp move as MG Cannon incorporates Blade bodyshops

MG Cannon has completed the purchase of the bodyshop assets from Blade Motor Group Ltd.

The purchase includes the bodyshop sites previously trading as Blade Accident Repair Centre Gloucester, Blade Smart Repair Centre Quedgeley and Fix Auto Swindon North. From 1 August, these sites now trade as MG Cannon Gloucester, Magic Gloucester and MG Cannon Swindon T/A Fix Auto Swindon North.

All transferring staff have been retained and MG Cannon have confirmed they will be investing in the team, growing the MG Cannon partnerships and the developing bodyshops themselves. In fact, work is already well underway at all sites to implement the MG Cannon culture, business plan and ensure the sites are fit for a strong, stable and successful long-term future.

Paul Bonner, previously group bodyshop manager at Blade Motor Group, who was one of the transferring staff said, ‘Every one of our team is delighted to have joined MG Cannon. You hear a lot about their brand and culture as a third party to them, but when you are part of the family it truly is exceptional. We have only been part of MG Cannon for one day, but everyone already has total confidence in the success of our future together. It’s a great position to be in.’

Dan Wareham, chief operations officer at MG Cannon added, ‘The commitment and enthusiasm of the Blade Bodyshop teams has been outstanding. I really cannot believe the fit and the strength of our new family. There are exciting times ahead for us all – I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has joined us from Blade, you have been so welcoming and engaging. It really is appreciated.’

Their vehicle manufacturer, retailer, insurance and accident management partners have been universally supportive of the acquisition and MG Cannon thank them all openly and warmly for their continued support and partnership. They will now work hard to continue to repay your trust in them.
