RHCV breaks ground on new site

Work has started on a new £3.5m head office and service site for independent Renault Truck dealership RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), in Nottingham.

Work has already started on the site, which is seven miles from RHCV’s current home and three miles from the M1. Planning permission for the 1.7-acre site was granted in late 2018, after the East Midlands dealer acquired the former home of TOM Vehicles Rentals’ in the Bulwell area of Nottingham.

RHCV is currently transforming the site with contractors, Samclo Construction and the new Nottingham premises will be fully operational by June 2019.

The new location will include purpose-built offices, to house RHCV’s growing team, plus a new larger workshop and parts dept, a brand-new ATF lane, paint booth and tacho-rolling bay. To improve the customer experience enhanced washroom facilities will be incorporated for drivers.

The new site is also part of the team’s strategic plans to enhance its presence along the M1 corridor and make it more accessible. Having acquired a fourth site in Northampton close to J16 of the M1 in early 2018 and with two additional sites in Alfreton and Leicester, the new Nottingham site is just three miles from J26 of the M1.

Established more than 40 years ago and with 118 employees across four sites, RHCV has doubled in size over the past six years.

Paul Pearson, commercial director at RHCV, said, ‘The close proximity to the M1 will also ensure easy accessibility for customers, saving them precious driving hours and money.’
