North East demand for AFVs outstrips London

The North East is fertile territory for the alternative fuelled vehicle market, with models selling quicker there than in London.

This is according to new data from cap hpi.

It found that AFVs including petrol and diesel hybrids take 35 days to sell compared with 36 days to sell in London. The data also reveals AFVs take 53 days to sell in Northern Ireland and 47 days in the north west of England.

Cap hpi analysed hundreds of thousands of adverts from a number of large websites to create a tool that reveals how long it takes to sell a particular model depending on where in the country people live.

Mark Barrett, head of international data science & analytics, said, ‘The data covers 100 towns and cities around the UK and over 550 car makes and models. Users are able to search by car make, model and derivative, find out which vehicles sell in the shortest time by region and how much the average selling price is on the second hand market in a particular city or region of the UK.’
