NARS celebrates six of the best

Nationwide Accident Repair Services has expressed its delight after bodyshop magazine announced they have six finalists in the Bodyshop Live! awards event.

This is the most of all shortlisted organisations and the most number of finalists they have ever had at the event.

The accident repair group have seen many successes over the years at this event, with their Technical Training and Professional Development Academy winning the Education and Training Award in 2018.

With a slight change in the category name, the Nationwide Academy are again finalists in the Educator of the Year award category and are hoping to walk away with the award for a second year running.

Last year’s finalist, James Oakley, Paint Technician from NCRC Portsmouth, is hoping to go for the win this year in the Paint Technician of the Year category. He’ll be up against tough competition, with Nationwide Mobile Repair Technician, Will Callaghan, also making it through as a finalist in the same category.

As one of Nationwide’s rising stars, Apprentice Panel Technician, James Bullass from NCRC Scunthorpe is a finalist for the Apprentice Panel Technician Award. James is due to complete his apprenticeship this year and will be joined at the event by Manager, Rick Prior.

Nationwide Ilkeston’s Chris McGill also made it as a finalist in the MET Technician category after passing the difficult online test and excelling in his practical assessment against his competitors.

Finally, Nationwide Trafford Park general manager, Darren Pennington, was announced as a finalist in the Bodyshop Manager of the Year category. Darren is not unfamiliar to celebrating his and his team’s success after they won LV= Best Loved Network Partner Bodyshop Award at the 2018 British Bodyshop Awards.

Louise Cope, people director, said, ‘As a team we are delighted to celebrate the success of our fellow Nationwiders, especially as we know just how hard every finalist has worked. To be recognised at an industry award ceremony such as this is a great achievement for our team members.

‘Nationwide is passionate about the continued development of our team members and to have such a high number of finalists is certainly testament to that.’
