Motofix VDAs receive AQP training

The Motofix Group has delivered Appropriate Qualified Person (AQP) training for all its VDAs.

Guidelines introduced by the ABI on 1 October 2017 stipulate that anyone categorising motor salvage has to hold the AQP qualification by October 2019.

Although VDAs are not required to hold the qualification, Motofix took the view that training all assessors would lead to improved communication with technicians.

Training was delivered by Phil Archer of PAAS Ltd. He said, ‘The AQP qualification is designed to provide detailed and comprehensive knowledge on categorisation of vehicle salvage. By gaining AQP status, Motofix vehicle damage assessors have a deeper understanding of the salvage categorisation process, further improving their ability to work with engineers to reach the right solutions quickly and effectively.’

Richard Tutt, group executive chairman added, ‘It’s another first for Motofix, further demonstrating our commitment to raising standards in the industry.’
