IBIS Africa celebrates inaugural success
The first ever IBIS Africa has been hailed as a triumph after delegates met in Johannesburg, South Africa last week.
The symposium addressed innovation in the industry and asked how the market can make the most of the technology to raise safety, skills and standards.
It said that what’s needed is an integrated, step-by-step approach to reducing cycle times and phasing out manual interventions in the insurance claims handing process, while greater cooperation with manufacturers is crucial to ensure the skills keep pace with developments.
The key points addressed were the collaboration needed between OEMs, insurers and bodyshops; planning for an open and free auto repair market with access to innovation; using data intelligence to streamline the experience of making a motor insurance claim; and what innovation and training are needed for the repair of advanced vehicle technologies.
