Fresh faces for Fix Auto Dagenham

The start of July opened a new chapter for Fix Auto Dagenham and the team.

Three new young apprentices started the month off by joining the business; Kian Whitlock, Ben Murphy and George Savin.

Taking on the role of a multi-skilled apprentice is not an easy job, especially when the Bodyshop they are working for turns around 8 – 12 cars a day!

Fix Auto Dagenham have always been committed to helping young people kick start their career and support them in any way possible for future development.

‘It is extremely important to encourage and reinforce the learning of young people, if they have no motivation they will not enjoy work. It is important to keep them interested as after all they are the future of the industry’, says commercial director Paul Cunningham.

Over the course of a year the aspiring apprentices will learn a range of workshop skills in vehicle repair. These include; stripping cars, prep and painting, refitting and polishing.

Scott Dunnell, group operations director, said, ‘The team are always happy to welcome apprentices on board, they work hard and are always happy to learn new things. It also gives our staff the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills’.

The workshop however isn’t the only department gaining young local talent. April and May saw two new administration apprentices. Rebekah Fraser joins dedicated team member Georgia to make up the front-line team. The accounts department also got a fresh face in the form of Joe Sullivan-Sparks, assisting manager Rubena in everyday tasks.
