DLG introduces VDA training scheme
Direct Line Group Auto Services has pioneered its own in-house Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) apprenticeship scheme.
This innovative programme was designed by Nigel Scholes (training and development SME) at Direct Line Group Auto Services to train the next generation of repair centre VDA’s to adapt to changing collision repair technologies.
The learning journey incorporates a level 2 MET (Mechanical, Electrical, Trim) apprenticeship with additional bespoke courses, all delivered by Thatcham Research, built to give participants a broad understanding of the industry, best practice and technology.
The training also incorporated several extensive VDA assessment training sessions along with first class mentoring from current DLG VDA’s.
Mark Calder, account executive at Thatcham Research commented, ‘It has been a great pleasure to work With Nigel and the team at Direct Line Group on this journey. It has been a genuine team effort in design and delivery. A true testament to their commitment and that of the team at Direct Line Group who have provided outstanding levels of support along the way.’
