bodyshop Live! buzz continues to build

Day two at the UK collision repair industry’s most respected and prestigious expo and awards event – bodyshop Live! 2019 – continued on Friday with a series of informative Workshops and exciting Auto Showcases.

First up was a presentation announcing the launch of the all-new School of Thought, which aims to address the industry’s skills shortage on a national level.

When announcing the project, Ford’s Dave Reece said: “We’re trying to create a nationwide community which includes every business and person involved in our sector. School of Thought is about promoting our industry because we all want to help the sector – and it’s gratis, so signing up to be part of it is a no-brainer.”

Within two hours of the announcement, more than 50 bodyshop Live! 2019 delegates and companies had enlisted into the community to find out more. Watch this space for School of Thought updates and pick up the October issue of bodyshop magazine for a full report.

Workshop two, presented by Gethyn Davies from Audatex, tackled the “small issues” that can have a big impact on a company’s bottom line, while Robert Snook from MG Cannon used a free-flowing style when asking “who owns the customer?” in the third and final workshop.

The Auto Showcases comprised a series of live vehicle demonstrations with motoring journalist and broadcaster Steve Berry on hand to interview each car’s handler before they demonstrated their vehicle’s latest safety and technology features.

On show from Bentley was their latest Continental GT convertible; BMW presented their new 330i M Sport; Volvo unveiled their new S60 R-Design; and Volkswagen Group showcased three vehicles – the Polo SE 1.0 EVO 80PS, Arteon R-Line 2.0 TDI 190PS DSG and the fully electric Audi e-tron 55 Quattro.

Later on Friday evening, the buzz continues to build as the bodyshop Live! 2019 Awards Dinner celebrates the best and brightest in the collision repair industry.
