BMW reaches plug-in milestone
BMW Group has sold its 500,000th plug-in vehicle – and now plans to sell another half a million by 2021.
BMW also wants plug-in sales to account for a quarter of all its sales by 2021, a third of sales by 2025 and half of all sales by 2030.
Oliver Zipse, chairman of the board of management of BMW AG said: “Half a million vehicles is the best proof: Our broad range of electrified vehicles is meeting exact customer needs. Now, we are stepping up the pace significantly: We aim to have one million electrified vehicles on the roads within two years. This is our contribution towards effective climate protection.”
