BCA expands into Doncaster

BCA has opened a new high-specification refurbishment facility in Doncaster for Mercedes-Benz light commercial vehicles and is recruiting specialist staff to support a range of services.

The Doncaster facility will manage 2,500 used LCVs a year, handling inspection, refurbishment and pre-sale imaging for the Mercedes-Benz approved used van programme.

The self-contained facility is recruiting trained mechanics and vehicle inspectors to expand the team to ensure a consistent level of service is delivered to Mercedes-Benz at all times. BCA’s Doncaster operation is working with colleges in Doncaster and Scunthorpe to put in place training and apprentice opportunities to develop the next generation of skilled inspectors and vehicle technicians.

John Brown, general manager at BCA Doncaster, said, ‘We have developed an advanced facility that can work flexibly to meet the requirements of the Mercedes-Benz used programme. It is great to be creating a world-class automotive facility in Doncaster.’

The team will handle inspection services, mechanical safety related checks, maintenance and service work. All elements of bodywork repair will be undertaken on-site, alongside valeting and imaging and BCA has deployed the latest technology to process vehicles in the most cost-effective and efficient way.

Mick Glover, van remarketing manager, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said, ‘The van market continues to go from strength to strength in the UK and it was vital that we chose a partner that shared our approach to delivering rigorous standards and a high level of service. BCA has developed a dedicated operation that will support our goals for the approved used van programme.’
