Autoglass raises €1.5m for charity

Autoglass has raised €1.5m for global charity partner Afrika Tikkun at the 2019 Spirit of Belron challenge.

The event saw employees from over 20 countries running, swimming and cycling to raise vital funds for Afrika Tikkun, which provides education, health and social services to young people in South African townships.

Employees and their families descended on Dorney Lake near Windsor to take part in a jam-packed day of events including 5km and 10km races, a half marathon, a duathlon, an Olympic triathalon, and a Scootathon for the kids.

Taxiarchis Konstantopoulos, managing director of Autoglass, said, ‘The work that Afrika Tikkun has accomplished over the last 25 years, and the many lives that have been changed, inspires all of us at Autoglass to train, compete and fundraise for a fantastic cause.

‘We are so proud to be part of Belron and its global community. I want to thank everyone who worked hard to make this event a resounding success, including the many family and friends who came along to show their support. All of the money raised will go towards crucial initiatives like promoting gender equality in South Africa, and we look forward continuing to support the great work of our global charity partner, Afrika Tikkun in the years to come.’
