Learner Driver Week 2018
Launching on Monday 24 September, Learner Driver Week will champion young people going through one of the most important aspects of becoming independent.
It will give voice to the opinions of drivers aged 17 – 24 years, will celebrate outstanding individuals, and will encourage positive change to make driving as accessible, valuable and affordable as possible.
Critically, Learner Driver Week will highlight and address the issues facing young people setting out on their driving journeys, with the aim of getting them onto the public agenda. It will also promote the sharing of valuable resources to help drivers and their parents on the journey to test success and a lifetime of safe driving.
Marmalade is supporting once again the second annual Learner Driver Week. Joining Marmalade in offering its support for Learner Driver Week 2018 are: Kwikfit, Driving Instructor TV, The Approved Driving Instructor National Joint Council (ADINJC), IAM RoadSmart and Safe Driving for Life.
A new initiative for Learner Driver Week 2018 is the launch of LDW 24 under 24. This competition celebrates the journeys of 24 young drivers aged between 17 – 24 years – who are currently learning or who passed their tests within the last two years.
The 24 young individuals named LDW’s 24 under 24 will win a dashcam bundle and those still learning to drive will also gain one year’s free access to the Official DVSA Learning Zone.
Crispin Moger, CEO at Marmalade, commented, ‘As the parent of a teenager, I am very aware that learning to drive is a hugely significant milestone, involving a mix of emotions. It is however, a milestone that is increasingly difficult to achieve. This is why we support Learner Driver Week.’
