IBIS and ICDP partner on MI
IBIS has agreed a global automotive collision repair market intelligence partnership with international research and strategy organisation, ICDP.
The partnership will see IBIS work hand-in-hand with ICDP, specialists in automotive retailing and aftersales, to develop and produce market intelligence centred specifically on collision repair markets around the globe.
Kick starting the project at the IBIS Global Summit 2018 – partnered by 3M, AkzoNobel, Audatex, Axalta, Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, Fix Auto World and Symach – the first research project will look into the EU5 countries and pull together vehicle distribution and sales data; insurance insight; and collision repair facts and figures to create a holistic understanding of the market trends impacting on the size of the sector today and in the future.
Steve Young, managing director, ICDP, said, ‘This represents the first step in a continuing process that will provide objective analysis and insight to all participants in the sector on the major trends and how they will affect different players. With the potential for major change through the implementation of ADAS technologies, and broader changes in OEM networks as the result of new retail approaches, the time is right to deepen our research into the sector. There is broad recognition that the sector lacks consistent and current data, and this affects the ability to plan effectively. We hope that our non-partisan and collaborative approach will be seen by all players as a way to address this.’
IBIS CEO, Jason Moseley said, ‘IBIS has been at the heart of the global collision industry for 18 years, bringing the senior leaders in our sector together to discuss, debate and engender positive change. We have recognised that high quality data is paramount to that continued improvement philosophy. Taking recent feedback and input from our worldwide participation for more specific and unique data, we have launched this exciting initiative with ICDP.
It was critical we found a partner with the pedigree and reputation of ICDP, together leveraging each other’s strengths to create powerful market data for our stakeholders. This project will deliver its initial outputs at this years Global Summit in Munich which will be an exciting and unique opportunity for everyone involved.’
