Dyson to nearly double EV team
Dyson is pushing ahead with its electric car vision by hiring a further 300 engineers. This is in addition to the 400 engineers and scientists already working on the project.
The news came out after it revealed earnings rose by 27% in 2017, to £801m.
The company’s electric car team is based in Malmesbury in the Cotswolds, but will soon move to a new research and development centre in Hullavington in Wiltshire.
It aims to build its first electric car by 2020, although hasn’t said where its vehicles will be manufactured. According to the BBC, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia and China are all options.
